Questions about JPG to TIFF
- Does converting JPG to TIFF improve the image quality?
- No. JPG already threw detail away when it was saved, and that detail does not come back. Writing the lossless TIFF preserves the picture you have now, but the file is usually several times larger.
- What happens to transparency?
- There is nothing to preserve: JPG has no transparency, so this does not come up.
- Is there a file size limit?
- No limit that we impose. The only ceiling is your device's memory, so a very large photo or a long recording may take a few seconds.
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- No. The conversion runs inside this browser tab, so the file never leaves your device — go offline once the page has loaded and keep converting.
